Make your own Jackalope Taxidermy workshop Thurs 18th June 5.30 to 9.30pm
Jackalope Taxidermy Workshop
Create your own legendary creature.
In this hands-on workshop you’ll build a classic piece of folklore, the Jackalope… a rabbit mounted with antlers, traditionally displayed on a shield or rustic wooden backing.
We’ll provide pre-skinned rabbit capes, antlers, and a choice of mounting shields or natural wooden backings, along with all the tools and materials you’ll need. You’ll be guided through the whole process step by step, from shaping and positioning the head to attaching the antlers and finishing your mount.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone curious about taxidermy and curious creatures. By the end of the session you’ll leave with your own finished Jackalope , a strange and wonderful piece of wall art ready to hang.
All materials included:
• Pre-prepared rabbit skins
• Antlers
• Mounting shield or rustic wooden backing
• Forms, tools and materials
• Step-by-step tuition
Expect a relaxed, slightly macabre afternoon learning traditional techniques and creating something that looks like it belongs in a Victorian curiosity cabinet or a Museum of Unnatural History.
Spaces are limited to keep the workshop small and hands-on.
